NRHP is fully owned and run by its membership. Membership subscription fees are used to run and develop NRHP with any annual surplus being held in reserve. NRHP board members are elected by, and solely accountable to, the membership and receive no renumeration from the organisation.

Criteria for Registration

Practising membership of NRHP is open to those therapists who have trained in hypno-psychotherapy with a UKCP accredited training organisation.  More information is available in our Guide to NRHP.

Individuals who have undergone training with a non-UKCP training organisation who are regulated by some other body and carry adequate insurance are entitled to have provisional non-regulated membership of NRHP (with no website or directory listing). This provisional membership would continue until further training with a UKCP accredited training organisation had been completed. Categories of Membership

Full (MNRHP)

Those who have been awarded a Diploma in Hypno-Psychotherapy by a UKCP Training Organisational Member and have, since qualification, undertaken supervision and continuing professional development (CPD) in line with NRHP policies, and hold appropriate insurance cover.

Associate 3(NRHP[Assoc 3])

Those who have completed the DHP taught training as above, but have not yet submitted their final dissertation which is a prerequisite for the award of the DHP. Associate 3 members must undertake supervision and CPD in line with NRHP policies, and hold appropriate insurance cover.

Associate 2(NRHP[Assoc 2])

Those who have completed the intermediate training towards the DHP as above and have been awarded the Certificate in Hypno-Psychotherapy (CHP). Associate 2 members must undertake supervision and CPD in line with NRHP policies, and hold appropriate insurance cover.

Associate 1(NRHP[Assoc 1])

Those who have completed the initial stages of training towards the DHP (as above) and are continuing in training. Associate 1 members must undertake supervision and CPD in line with NRHP policies, and hold appropriate insurance cover.

Student

Those who are currently students on the above training.  Student membership provides students with reduced premium insurance to enable them to practise the techniques learned.  Student members are not included on any public register and may only practise on volunteers, such as family and friends, on a non-commercial basis.

Non-regulated

Those members who may be retired, non-practising, overseas or not fully entitled to be regulated members of NRHP.  They are not monitored by the NRHP in areas of practice such as Insurance Liability Cover, CPD and supervision.  They are not covered by the NRHP Complaints procedure.
