Issue 3.12Hypno-Forum is a cyber-place where NRHP members can discuss their profession, their needs and wants and ideas. It is not the channel for the NRHP office or Board to disseminate information to it’s members. It is basically a newsgroup mailing list where everyone can contribute equally or just listen to the traffic.
It was originally created in 2002 in response to a need felt by some members to just keep in touch and discuss matters germane to the profession and in particular, members of the NRHP.
The basic requirement to be a member of this forum is to be a member of the NRHP in good standing. Ultimately, your eligibility will be determined by the moderator and the decision is final.
Firstly, visit the NRHP
website at www.nrhp.co.uk and log-in to the membership area. You will
need your NRHP membership number to do this. This takes the format “NN-mmmm” where
NN are year digits and mmmm is a unique 4 digit number. This security
measure is under review and may change in the future.
Secondly, navigate to the section on the member’s web page about
the forum and click the link “visit this group”. This will
take you to “Google Groups” host page for the Forum and the
rest should be fairly self explanatory from there.
How can I remove my name from this email list?
Visit the Google Groups NRHP Forum page and cancel your membership. Please note: the Nelson office DO NOT administer this forum so please if you have any technical queries please contact NRHPweb@gmail.com.
Contact NRHPweb@gmail.com.
The list is not sponsored by anyone. The NRHP Board, whilst not administering the list, fully supports its role for members. However, the list is solely for it’s members’ discussions. Members who have anything to do with the management of the NRHP or any other body will not use this list to disseminate official policy or communicate with the membership on official issues, separate channels exist for those functions, although they may take part as individuals and practising therapists. When they do so, any opinions expressed will be their own personal opinions, not those of the Board.
Anyone who has access to the Internet and a valid email address, subject to membership requirements may subscribe to the NRHP Forum email list. Subscribers will receive a copy of every message sent to the posting address for the list.
You may set your delivery options to “digest” so that up to only one email appears in your inbox per day, or, you may switch off email deliveries altogether and just “dip in” when desired via the website.
If you wish to respond, post, or otherwise have
your words sent to everyone on the list, send email, either by replying
the message to which you are responding or sending a new email to the list
address which is;.
nrhp-members@googlegroups.com.
The list management program is set up so selecting "Reply" in your e-mailer will send a message to the entire list. If you wish to respond individually to the sender of the message, be sure to address your message accordingly.
No. All members are equal. However, moderator adjudications are final in any dispute between members.
There are informal rules of the internet which are termed "Netiquette." To help people use proper etiquette within this form of communication. Some examples of poor Netiquette. are;
This is a dynamic environment and netiquette is changing rapidly. All members should adhere to the following Acceptable Use Policy.
This forum is dedicated to free speech, openness and respect for others. Personal abuse or immoderate language will not be tolerated, nor will racial, religious, gender or political discrimination.
No. This is to avoid spammers accessing databases to extend their knowledge base of live email addresses.
Posts must be respectful at all times. This is enforced by me saying that “Any threatening or coercive behaviour, however cloaked or softened will result in immediate and irreversible expulsion without notice or reason.”
It is possible to successfully subscribe with an incorrect email address. I check all bounced messages to determine why they bounced. If the address is invalid, I delete it from the subscriber list. If the problem is temporary, like a full mailbox, I'll keep the address on the list for a while, then delete it if the problem isn't resolved. If it is bounced by your mail server, I will attempt to contact your postmaster -- and copy the message to you.
Of course, since there's a problem with the email address, there may be no way I can contact you to tell you of the problem. :-(
I take an incredibly hard line against unsolicited commercial email. Everything possible will be done to combat SPAM.
